WHAT IS MAKHANA
The Seed of the Water Lily
Makhana — also known as Fox Nuts or popped lotus seeds — comes from the seeds of the Euryale ferox water lily. The seeds are harvested, dried and popped into light, crunchy white puffs.
India’s Mithila region in Bihar is the traditional home of makhana. At Suiraa Global we focus only on plain, natural, unflavoured makhana, so brands and processors can roast, season or pack it their own way.
